About the project

The Faena Forum is one of Miami Beach’s premier event venues, hosting major conferences and cultural events such as Billboard Latin Music Week. CPPMS was entrusted with its restoration on an active venue’s schedule.

Phase 2 is a full-scale exterior restoration of one of Miami Beach’s most recognizable buildings: removal and replacement of approximately 6,900 linear feet of deteriorated corner-bead assemblies, selective stucco demolition and rebuild to match existing profiles installed to ASTM C926, crack routing, epoxy injection, and flexible cementitious waterproofing.

About 40,000 square feet of surface is prepared and coated with the Sika Thorocoat®-200 HB / Thorocoat®-350 two-coat system, backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty. Work is engineered and sequenced across 40 controlled drops, with engineer sign-off at every stage. Access is by power mast and scaffold.
The main entrance elevation was prioritized and finished first, and the power mast was removed on schedule so the entrance stayed clear for a major televised event at the venue.
Phase 1, the underground garage, is complete. Deteriorated overhead concrete had exposed and corroded the reinforcing steel. CPPMS removed unsound concrete, cleaned the steel, applied a corrosion inhibitor, spliced reinforcement where required, and repacked the sections with Sika overhead repair mortar.
